Johnny Patterson (1840-1889) from Feakle Co. Clare was Ireland's most famous Singing Clown and Song Writer. Songs such as “The Dingle Puck Goat”, “Stone outside Dan Murphy's Door”, “The Garden Where the Praties Grow”, “Biddy Donoghue”, “Goodbye Johnny Dear” and many many more were penned by Johnny and are still popular today, 120 years after his tragic death on stage in Tralee.
Declan Mangan and Mick Jones have created a Musical Drama telling Johnny's story and the World Premier, starring Muiris Crowley as Johnny and Kerry Rose of Tralee entrant Karen McGillycuddy as Biddy, will run in the local CYMS Hall on Aug.3,4,5,6,
