Name :  Claire Coyle
Date :  10/04/2008
Location :  Killorglin
Year :  1998
Queen :  Claire Coyle
Comment :  i would like to be the queen of puck because i feel the goat and i would get on very well on the stand!!, as well it would be an honor to be chosen as queen of puck

when i heard the story about a heard of goats coming down from the Mac Gillycuddy reeks to warn killorglin that English forces were going to attack i was fascinated. Ever since i was 6 seeing the queen every year and hoping it would be me some day. I'm sure every little girl from Killorglin has the same dream

Killorglin is changing and parts of our heritage is slowing slipping away but i hope the tradition of puck fair lives on and i would love to be part of it by being queen puck 1998

Name :  GrĂ¡inne McBride
Date :  12/08/2005
Location :  Sydney. Australia
Year :  1990
Queen :  Me
Comment :  My role as Queen began a bit earlier than the traditional parade up the town on the evening of 'gathering day', the first day of the festival. In 1990, in a gesture of good will for cross-border relations, the regal honour went to a wild goat caught on the hillsides of Northern Ireland & so my first duty was to welcome King Puck into the Kingdom by meeting him in the border town of Ballyvourney (the county bounds border that is..). I remember hastily changing into my royal gown in the ladies toilet of the M

Name :  Susan Foley
Date :  05/08/2005
Location :  Dublin
Year :  1986
Comment :  When I was Queen of Puck, King Puck and I had a photoshoot just outside Glenbeigh. I was holding on to the goat's two horns so tight, the photographer said I looked like I was trying not to fall off my motorbike! Scary but oh what a brilliant experience being Queen of Puck was. I'm heading down to Puck this year, my first time in ages and I'm really looking forward to it :)

Name :  Liz O'Connor
Date :  18/07/2005
Location :  Colorado, USA
Year :  1983
Queen :  Myself
Comment :  When I was queen, I was the first person to have to say the speech in four languages. It was a bit scary, but fun. I loved being Queen of Puck. It was fun getting my picture taken with the goat, although I remember being a bit afraid of him.

Name :  Erin O'Connor
Date :  09/07/2005
Location :  Washington, USA
Year :  1987
Comment :  The last time I was at Puck Fair was the year I was queen (the year before my family emigrated to America). It's been far too long, but I'm finally going back for Puck 2005!!
